Flaky infrastructure

“..infrastructure [is] not a fixed set of material things that are functioning in the background until they break down in visible ways… Infrastructures are flaky accretions of sociomaterial processes that are brought into being through relations with human bodies, discourses, and other things (sewage, soil, water, filtration plants). They are processes always in formation and, as Alka tai found, always coming apart” (Hydraulic City, p.13).
